Michael Burton brings 12 years of NFL experience to Cleveland and has built his career in one of football's more specialized roles. The Rutgers product entered the league with Detroit in 2015 and has since played for the Bears, Commanders, Saints, Chiefs and Broncos. Across 150 career games, he has contributed as a fullback, blocker, short-yardage runner and occasional receiver.
Burton's value has never depended on putting up big rushing numbers. His work has largely come through blocking and helping create structure for the running game, while his experience in multiple offensive systems has made him a dependable veteran presence. His most productive receiving season came in 2024 with Denver, when he caught 10 passes for 65 yards and a touchdown.
Cleveland added Burton for the 2026 season as part of a running back room built around a mix of young players and veteran experience. Now wearing No. 34 for the Browns, a Michael Burton T-Shirt (https://www.dawgfantees.com/collections/michael-burton-t-shirt) highlights a player whose contribution is often measured in the plays that make other offensive players successful.
